Il problema "Engine Failure"
Cathay flight forced back to HK
19-10-2011
An engine problem forced a Rome-bound Cathay Pacific Airbus with 278 passengers on board to return to Hong Kong early this morning. The airline said the fault was detected about an hour after takeoff, and the engine had to be shut down.
Cathay said the passengers were checked into a hotel and later put on another flight.

Engine failure forces Cathay flight to turn around

HONG KONG: Engine failure forced a Rome-bound Cathay Pacific flight to return to Hong Kong shortly after it took off from the southern Chinese territory on Wednesday, an airline spokesman said.
The Airbus A340, carrying 296 passengers and crew, experienced problems in its third engine about an hour into the flight, forcing the pilots to shut it down, airline spokesman Thomas Lau told AFP.
The plane, flight CX293, landed safely at 2:49 am (1849 GMT Tuesday) almost three hours after it set off. There were no injuries.
All but 11 of the passengers then boarded a replacement plane.
