BA to operate all Iberia's Spain - London flights in coming months
17JUL2013
British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) will, at some point in the next few months, take over all of sister carrier's, Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas), Spain-London flights. The Spanish press privy to ongoing negotiations between the airlines and unions, says the news has been greeted with much derision by the Spanish company's various trade unions, some of whom have withdrawn from the talks in disgust. While neither carrier has confirmed the move as yet, it was originally believed that only flights outbound from Madrid Barajas would be affected but this has now been changed to encompass all flights originating in Spain and heading to London. No exact timetable for the switch has been announced.
