Air France planning to shut down Hop: report

Air France-KLM is planning to axe its regional unit Hop, French newspaper La Tribune has reported.
The report references a slide presented during a recent works-council meeting, in which the Hop brand was replaced with "Air France XXX".
La Tribune suggests that this "leaves no room for doubt as to the future of the brand Hop, which will come back under the umbrella [of its parent company]".
Air France had no immediate comment.
In November 2018, pilot union SNPL requested a meeting with Air France-KLM group chief executive Ben Smith to discuss the future direction for Hop and listed grievances over the unit's management and direction since its creation in 2013.
Earlier this month, Air France disclosed that it was planning to close Joonand move that subsidiary's crew and aircraft back into the mainline operation.
Flight Fleets Analyzer indicates that Hop has a fleet of 84 in-service aircraft: a mix of ATR turboprops, Avro/BAe 146 jets, Bombardier CRJs, Embraers, and Fokkers. FG
