An Iberia Airbus A321-200, registration EC-JGS performing flight IB-3634 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Milan Linate (Italy), had just touched down on Linate's runway 36 when a large bird struck the left hand engine (CFM56) leaving impact marks at the cowling just outside the engine's inlet and the engine's thrust reverser. The airplane rolled out safely and taxied to the gate.
The aircraft was able to depart for the next day's return flight IB-3635 with a delay of 70 minutes after remaining 14 hours on the ground.
