Carissimi amici forumisti, è arrivato il momento di cominciare a contarsi ed a fare le cose sul serio.

Juche Travel organizza per il prossimo mese di settembre l’Aviation Tour in Corea del Nord. L’occasione è di quelle ghiotte, perché nel 2015 ricorre il 60mo anniversario dall’inizio delle operazioni di Air Koryo, ed il tour avrà anche una funzione celebrativa dell’evento.

Per ora, le certezze sono queste:
· il tour avrà luogo dal 19 al 26 settembre;
· Si potrà volare su un bel po’ di mezzi che difficilmente avrete l’occasione di provare (Ilyushin IL-18, IL-62, IL-76, Tupolev Tu-134, TU-154, Tu-204, Antonov An-24, An-148, Mil Mi-17);
· Ci sarà una speciale cena commemorativa dell’evento da parte di JTS;
· Si volerà in diversi aeroporti della DPRK.

Il 2015 rappresenta anche il 70mo anniversario della liberazione dall’invasione giapponese, ed il 70mo anniversario della fondazione del Partito Koreano dei Lavoratori: c’è la fondata possibilità, pertanto, che vengano organizzati per l’occasione anche gli Airang Mass Games.

Come detto, bisogna organizzarsi per tempo e, prima di tutto, cominciare a contarsi. Il costo del tour sarà intorno ai 2.000 euro, prezzo che include sostanzialmente tutto, ad eccezione del visto cinese e del volo per/da Pechino. Alla cifra bisognerà aggiungere semplicemente le spese per gli omaggi floreali da deporre ai vari monumenti a Kim Il Sung e Kim Il Jong, qualche bevanda extra, e la consueta mancia finale a guide ed autisti: calcolate un 200 euro, se volete comprendere anche qualche souvenir e qualche birra la sera (dove la si riesce a trovare...).

Più avanti verrà fornita qualche informazione supplementare su aspetti organizzativi e secondari, man mano che, con l’Associazione, si definiranno i costi definitivi e l’organizzazione. Per ora, facciamo partire l’appello di quanti seriamente interessati, quindi bando alle ciance e cominciate a segnarvi le date in agenda!

Price: EUR 1,995 / PERSON

Places visited: Pyongyang, Mount Paektu, Mount Kumgang, Hamhung, Mount Myohyang, Kaesong / DMZ

- A visit to the Fatherland Liberation War Museum to see the preserved fighter aircraft from both sides of the Korean War and the captured US spy ship Pueblo;

- A visit to the Korean Peoples Army Arms and Equipment Exhibition including examples of current frontline KPA Air Force aircraft;

- A visit to see the beautifully preserved Chosun Minhang Ilyushin IL-14 No. 535 at the International Friendship Exhibition in Mount Myohyang;

- Entrance to a special 60th Anniversary Celebratory Banquet Dinner to be hosted by Air Koryo, including live music and entertainment from their in-house band;

- A question and answer session with Air Koryo flight crew, and a company presentation given by the external relations manager of Air Koryo.

- Completed aviation tour application form (attached);
- Scanned colour copy of your passport photo ID page (black and white not accepted);
- Scanned colour copy of a separate passport photo (black and white not accepted);
- Signed and scanned customer declaration form (attached).

We will acknowledge receipt of your application and inform you of the next steps.

Tour price includes:
- All accommodation (4* standard in Pyongyang and Mount Kumgang, 5* standard in Hamhung);
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a welcome dinner in Beijing on Friday 18th September 2015 following the pre-tour meeting; one drink per meal is also included (normally beer or mineral water);
- Return international transportation Beijing – Pyongyang – Beijing / Shenyang as listed;
- All entry fees to the places of interest to be visited as listed in the itinerary;
- All transportation inside the DPRK, in an air conditioned vehicle with driver;
- The use of two English speaking KITC guides plus JTS Tour Leader.


Tour Price does not include:
- The DPRK tourist visa fee, which is EUR 50 if collected in Beijing at the pre-tour meeting;
- Any expenses incurred outside of the DPRK e.g. Chinese visa fee, international transportation to and from Beijing, accommodation in Beijing etc.
- Beverages and other incidental expenses incurred for souvenirs, additional drinks, trip up to the top of the Juche Tower etc.
- A flower offering at Memorial sites like Mansudae Grand Monument (EUR 5- 10);
- Travel and medical insurance;
- Gratuities for your guides and driver (we would recommend a figure of around EUR 50 per customer);
- Single room supplement of EUR 245 / person (if not taken, we will pair up single customers in a twin room).






Air Koryo 60[SUP]th[/SUP] Anniversary Celebratory Aviation Tour of the DPRK, September 2015

The Day Before: Friday 18[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2015

1800 hrs – Meet at the DPRK’s Chonji Restaurant, Beijing for the pre-tour meeting. We will be handing out the DPRK visas and air tickets to each customer and provide a briefing on the practical aspects of the tour. This will be followed by a complimentary welcome dinner accompanied by a music and dance extravaganza from the delightful Korean hostesses. A few refreshing beers will be offered to break the ice and get to know your fellow tour members!

Day 1: Saturday 19[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2015

1300 hrs – Depart Beijing onboard Air Koryo flight JS152 (Tupolev Tu-204) to Pyongyang. After customs clearance and baggage collection we will make our way into Pyongyang. Visit to the Mansudae Grand Monument and fountain park followed by a city walk from Kim Il Sung square to Pyongyang Grand Theatre. Check in at the Koryo Hotel (4*), relaxation and dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 2: Sunday 20[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2015

Drive to Kaesong (about 2.5 hours from Pyongyang). Visit to Panmunjom on the DMZ followed by a Kaesong city walk from Janam hill to Nam Gate and the Folk Custom hotel, where a Royal Banquet lunch will be served. Visit to the Koryo History museum and souvenir shop, then back to Pyongyang via the Reunification Monument for some photos. Dinner will be served at the Chongryu Hot Pot restaurant, after which there will be an optional visit to the Taedonggang No.3 bar where a range of freshly brewed beers will be offered. Overnight at Koryo Hotel.

Day 3: Monday 21[SUP]st[/SUP] September 2015

Drive to Pyongyang Airport. Fly to Samjiyon Airport (near Mount Paekdu) onboard Ilyushin IL-62 (approx. 1 hour flying time). There will be extensive photography opportunities of the aircraft upon landing, followed by a picnic lunch overlooking the apron. The group will then make their way up Mt. Paekdu to take in the breathtaking views of the crator lake. It is then time to return to Samjiyon airport via the impressive Samji Grand Monument, before taking our flight back to Pyongyang on board the IL-62. Dinner this evening will be a special celebratory banquet dinner (venue TBA) to honour the 60[SUP]th[/SUP] Anniversary of Air Koryo operations. There will be special entertainment provided by Air Koryo’s in-house band.


Day 4: Tuesday 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] September 2015

The first stop today is at the Juche Tower, where you will be able to enjoy a picturesque view of Pyongyang. It is then back to Pyongyang Airport for our morning flight onboard the venerable Air Koryo Ilyushin Il-18, tail number P-835, and we will be flying to Tongchon Airport, a new destination for our tours, located near the stunning Kumgang mountain range (approx. 30 minutes flying time). As usual, photography opportunities will be offered upon landing and there will also be some time put aside for a question and answer session with the Air Koryo flight crew.

After making our way to the Kumgang mountain resort (journey time 1 hour) and checking in at our lodgings, the Oekumgang Hotel (4*), the rest of the day will be spent visiting the delightful natural wonders of the area, including Sinye Buddhist Temple, Kuryong Falls and Samil Lake. Dinner will be served back at the hotel.

Day 5: Wednesday 23[SUP]rd[/SUP] September 2015

We return to Pyongyang Airport this morning on board the Ilyushin IL-18. The rest of the day will be spent at the Airport, where customers will have their chance to fly on a range of optional pleasure flights (for those customers not taking any of the pleasure flights, alternative sightseeing will be arranged). The first of these will be a return flight to Sondok Airport (journey time 25 minutes) on board the Tupolev Tu-154. After a brief stop at Sondok for photography, it’s back to Pyongyang for lunch at the airport.

The afternoon will be spent sampling the other three optional 30 minute circular pleasure flights; the mighty Ilyushin IL-76 cargo plane, the second Air Koryo Ilyushin IL-62 (in other words, the one that you don’t take to Samjiyon) and Air Koryo’s newest addition to its fleet, the Antonov An-148. The final stop of the day will be at the jaw-dropping Korean People’s Army Arms and Equipment Exhibition, where a huge array of military hardware is on display, including an example of each aircraft in the KPA Air Force. We then re-check in back at the Koryo Hotel (if you wish, you may leave your luggage and belongings in your room for a fee of EUR 5 per person per night). Dinner will be served at the Duck BBQ restaurant, followed by an optional evening visit to the anticipated Arirang Mass Games (TBC). Overnight at Koryo Hotel.

Day 6: Thursday 24[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2015

The day starts with a visit to the recently re-built Fatherland Liberation War museum, where preserved fighter aircraft from both of sides of the Korean War are displayed, as well as the captured US spyship Pueblo, of which a full tour will be given. We then take a ride on board the Pyongyang Metro (extended route featuring 7 stations) before heading to Pyongyang Airport. We will fly to Sondok (Hamhung) onboard the Tupolev Tu-134 and An-24 (approx. 25 mins flying time), with photography opportunities of both aircraft at Sondok. It is then time to check in at our lodgings, the Majon Hotel (5*), followed by lunch. In the afternoon, customers have the choice of relaxing at the hotel sampling the excellent facilities and delightful beach, or alternatively visiting the historic Bongung old house of Hamhung, and the (in)famous Hungnam fertilizer factory. Dinner this evening will be served at the hotel, and there will be an optional, delicious clam barbecue appetizer served on the beach.

Day 7: Friday 25[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2015

It’s back to Pyongyang Airport on board Tupolev Tu-134 and Antonov An-24 (you will switch planes for the return flight). Upon arrival at the airport, we head north to the Myohyang mountains, either by coach or by optional Mil-17 helicopter flight (around 1.5 hours’ drive / 45 mins flight). First stop in Hyangsan is the International Friendship Exhibition, where the beautifully preserved Chosun Minhang Ilyushin IL-14 will be displayed. Lunch will be taken at a local hotel, followed by a look around the historic Pohyon Buddhist Temple. The group then returns to Pyongyang to pack bags and freshen up before the Farewell Dinner, taking place at our home in Pyongyang, the Koryo Hotel.

Day 8: Saturday 26[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2015

Depart Pyongyang:

0900 hrs JS151 to Beijing (Tupolev Tu-204-100 anticipated)
1200 hrs JS155 to Shenyang (Tupolev Tu-204-300 anticipated) – optional at no additional cost

Dancrane, aggiungi ai dati sopracitati che quello di Settembre 2015 sarà l'unico tour aviatorio dell'anno e che per alcuni aerei si paga un supplemento di almeno 250€ cadauno. Detto questo, considerami tra le persone in forse.
 
Per ora posso solo dire: parliamone.
Fra qualche mese il quadro sarà più chiaro in molti sensi.
