Avete mai sentito queste città del Marocco Sidi Ifni e Villa Cisneros? Eppure sfogliando il temetable dell'Iberia del 1963 ci volava regolarmente con i DC3 da Las Palmas. Chiedo a voi ma ci sono ancora questi scali?

Dakhla (Dajla), or ad-Dakhla (Arabic: الداخلة) (formerly Villa Cisneros), is a city in the Morocco-administered Western Sahara with about 67,468 inhabitants[1]. It is about 550 km south of El Aaiún on a narrow peninsula of the Atlantic Coast. It is the capital of the Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira region.
Dakhla was founded as Villa Cisneros in 1502 by Spanish settlers during the expansion of their Empire.
During the 1960s, the Francoist dictatorship also built here one of the three paved airports in Western Sahara (IATA Code: VIL).
SULL'AEROPORTO INVECE
The Dakhla airport is used as public airport and by the Royal Moroccan Air Force. The 3 km. long runway can receive a Boeing 737 or smaller planes. Parking space of 18.900 m² or one Boeing 737.
The passenger terminal covers 670 m² and is capable to handle up to 55.000 passenger/year. Public facilities available: medical post and prayer room.
