Aeroflot has ordered 10 type A330

Moscow, March 13, 2008

JSC "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines" and the leasing company AerCap (Netherlands) have signed an operative leasing contract for delivery of ten new type A330-200 passenger aircraft with a term of up to 10 years. Deliveries are to take place between November 2008 and April 2010.

Type A330 aircraft boast a range of up to 12,500 km and are used for long-haul services by leading international airlines.

The new airliner will be equipped 2 classes: 23 seats in business class and 207 in economy class. The aircraft cabin will be individually designed, featuring, for example, built-in satellite phones and screens for each seat. Business class will be equipped with comfortable reclining seats. The space between seat rows in economy class has been increased to further enhance passenger comfort. The aircraft is driven by Rolls-Royce engines.

The airline plans to use the A330 both on international and national flight services.

"The type A330 aircraft significantly boosts our potential for long-haul flights and enables us to service the strategic markets of Asia and the Far East", explains Valery Okulov, director general of Aeroflot. "This is not only about strengthening our regular flight network, but about entirely new quality standards for our passengers. With the A330 we can offer a new product for long-haul services which not only equals, but surpasses quality standards of top international airlines. We have achieved this for regular European services and will do the same for long-haul flights!" he emphasises.
