Greek Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashes into Aegean Sea, 2 pilots unhurt
ATHENS, Greece — Greek military officials say a fighter plane crashed into the eastern Aegean Sea during an exercise but both pilots safely ejected.
The Air Force said in a statement that the Mirage 2000 jet lost power as it was flying between the islands of Samos and Fourni on Thursday.
It says the pilots were picked up by a military vessel in the area and were in good health.
The French-made fighter had taken off from an air base in central Greece. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
