Penso sia qualcosa di analogo all'ESTA che c'è già per entrare negli Stati Uniti.

Canada announces new reforms for its travelers
Canadian Government is planning to implement three significant amendments to immigration legislation of Canada, which will affect everyone who wish to enter the country.
The first reform includes the implementation of the electronic travel authorization ("eTA"). The foreign citizens who do not require a visa prior to enter the country need to obtain online authorization before they transit, effective from April 2015. With this initiative, the Canadian Government expects that most of the applications will be approved within minutes.
In addition, Airlines will provide traveler information to immigration officers of Canada before boarding, which helps the country to check whether the individual have attempted eTA or not.
Canada and the US will share biometric-based immigration information to support each government's assessment of visa applications. With this measure, Canada will be able to track exits, which helps CIC to identify persons who overstay their visa.
