Riassunto del Full Year Statement che potrete scaricare in PDF qui: http://easyjetdirect.newsweaver.com...vhf4o73t?email=true&a=6&p=55993747&t=24508215
. FY19 was a challenging year for our industry, and we certainly felt how tough it was. But I’m pleased to say that we finished the year with a strong performance across the business and a record summer. More customers than ever are coming to us as their airline of choice, with a record 96.1 million customers flying with us this year.

Our self-help initiatives have meant that we reduced costs and saw better yield performance which in turn improved revenue per seat significantly in the second half of the year.

I am delighted to say that our Operational Resilience programme has reduced cancellations by 46% and lowered delays of three hours or more by 24% year on year.

Headline profit before tax came in at £427 million, which was towards the top end of the guidance set in July of this year.
We also made another significant announcement today. You will have seen and heard me talk about the fact that sustainability and climate change have shot up the agenda around Europe. They are topics that our people and customers care deeply about and an area where we have an opportunity to make a big difference.

So, I’m proud to announce that starting today, we will operate net zero carbon flights across our whole network. We’ll be doing this by offsetting the carbon emissions from the fuel used for all of our flights. In fact, we think this probably makes us the single biggest buyer of carbon offsets made on a voluntary basis, anywhere in the world.

We will do our carbon offsetting only through schemes which have been accredited by two of the highest verification standards, Gold Standard and VCS. We will have a number of different offset projects which are a mixture of forests, renewable energy and ones that a make a big difference for local communities through either providing cook stoves or creating boreholes for clean water. We’re the world’s first major airline to take the bold step of operating net-zero carbon flights across our whole network, because we believe it’s the right thing to do. It’s also part of Our Promise to be a safe and responsible airline and we’re encouraging other airlines to do the same so that aviation around the world moves towards becoming net-zero carbon.

We know that carbon offsetting isn’t perfect and it is only an interim measure, but it means we can tackle the amount of carbon we emit right now. But very importantly we need to continue to reduce our carbon emissions and support the development of new technologies – including hybrid and electric planes - so we can reinvent aviation as quickly as we can.

We’ve shared details before of the work we’re doing with Wright Electric to produce an all-electric ‘easyJet sized’ plane for short haul flights. Today, I am delighted to announce that we will also be working with Airbus on a project to jointly research how electric hybrid planes could be introduced for short haul flying in Europe.

We’ll also be looking for more ways to take action beyond carbon by rapidly reducing our waste and single-use plastic usage. We’ve already made some simple but really effective changes. For example, we’ve replaced plastic drink stirrers with wooden ones, we now offer discounts for customers who bring their own reusable cup and, this month we are replacing the plastic cup we give customers to put their used tea bags in with a little bowl which is made of bagasse, the fibre that is left over after sugar cane has been processed.

I’m really proud of the steps we have taken so far and of the leading position we are now taking to help tackle this hugely important global issue – I hope you are too.
We know there is a lot of excitement and anticipation around our new holidays business so I’m delighted to say that today we announced it will be launching before Christmas. We’ll be offering our customers a wide range of city and beach holidays to some of the best hotels across our network. From launch we will be taking bookings for winter 2019 and summer 2020 seasons via a new dedicated easyJet holidays website.

This is one of our key strategic priorities, so I look forward to sharing more details with you and celebrating a successful launch.

Looking ahead to FY20, forward bookings for the first half of the financial year are reassuring and are actually slightly ahead of last year. But I anticipate that the operating environment will continue to be tough for the foreseeable future. However, I’m confident that with us all working together to support the delivery of Our Plan we are well positioned to continue to be one of the most successful airlines in Europe.

Ottima scelta.

Etihad announces partnership with easyJet
Etihad, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier, announced that it is partnering with the British low-cost carrier easyJet. According to Etihad, the partnership comes into effect immediately and would allow easyJet customers to book flights on the combined network of both airlines.

The full-service carrier will add its first partner into its New Distribution Capability (NDC) program that utilizes cloud-based technology to increase the range of ancillary offerings to its customers. Etihad’s NDC plans were announced in September 2018, when the airline partnered with Farelogix, a software engineering company from Miami, Florida (United States).

Farelogix’s product FLX Merchandise will allow Etihad to enhance the booking experience for passengers, including such basics as preferred seating, priority boarding and other optional extras that will enhance the journey onboard Etihad Airways’ aircraft. Furthermore, the Emirati carrier plans to add more airlines to its NDC portfolio, meaning customers will be able to book a wider range of destinations through “Etihad’s global gateways,” said the carrier’s Vice President of Alliances and Partnerships, Ali Saleh.

“easyJet is a perfect launch partner for us in Europe, allowing us to reliably increase the breadth of our continental reach to and from Abu Dhabi, as we enhance ways of connecting directly with more airlines and travel partners around the world,” Saleh added.

The low-cost carrier’s customers are now able to connect to Etihad Airways’ network in 10 European cities, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Rome and several others. Plans to further increase the offering of connections is in motion, states the press release.

Capacity discipline and rival's collapse boost EasyJet revenue

EasyJet's revenue rose nearly 10% in its fiscal first quarter, driven by strong demand and the collapse of UK rival Thomas Cook, prompting the low-cost airline to raise guidance for the remainder of the year.
In a 21 January trading statement, EasyJet says it expects revenue per seat for the first half of its financial year to increase by "mid- to high-single digits" compared with previous guidance of a low- to mid-single-digit rise.
The UK budget carrier expects to deliver a first-half pre-tax loss "better than" the £275 million ($359 million) loss incurred in the first six months of the previous year. EasyJet's financial year ends on 30 September.
Total group revenue for the three months ended 31 December increased 9.9% to £1.43 billion. This included a 9.7% increase in passenger revenue to £1.12 billion and a 10.8% rise in ancillary revenue to £301 million.
Total airline revenue per seat increased 8.8%, "outperforming expectations", says EasyJet. It cites a "strong performance" in Berlin, "robust demand" combined with low capacity growth by EasyJet and competitors, and the "benefit" of Thomas Cook's collapse in September.
EasyJet completed a sale-and-leaseback deal for 10 Airbus A319s during the quarter, generating £114 million in cash.
Costs for the fiscal first quarter were "in line with expectations", with per-seat costs rising 4.3%, which the carrier says reflects lower capacity growth as well as the ownership costs associated with new aircraft deliveries and the cancellation of 813 flights as a result of December's national strikes in France.
In a research note issued today, Bernstein analysts argue that cost control at EasyJet "remains wanting" and that "more could be done on this front".
The UK airline confirmed today that former Ryanair chief operating officer Peter Bellew has now joined EasyJet in the same role. Bernstein states that this appointment could "provide a catalyst for progress" on cost control going forward.
Ryanair had attempted to prevent Bellew from joining its rival, citing a 12-month non-compete clause, but this was rejected by the Irish High Court.
EasyJet expects its full-year fuel bill to come in at about £1.64 billion, which includes a £25 million investment in its carbon-offsetting programme. The airline began offsetting carbon emissions across its entire network in November. Chief executive Johan Lundgren describes offsetting as an "interim measure", noting that EasyJet will "continue to work on reducing our carbon footprint in the short term, coupled with long-term work to support the development of new technology, including hybrid and electric planes, to reinvent aviation for the long term".
Passenger numbers increased 2.8% year-on-year in the quarter ended 31 December, and the airline increased capacity 1%. This resulted in a 1.6-percentage-point increase in load factor to 91.3%.
EasyJet says it will grow capacity by 1.5% in the first half of the financial year, slightly lower than the previously planned 1.7% growth, primarily as a result of French air traffic control strikes. The airline expects to grow full-year capacity by about 3%.
Bernstein analysts describe this capacity growth as "moderate", and question whether EasyJet "may have opportunities to grow faster now and reap the benefits of higher yields".
The airline said today that EasyJet Holidays – the package-holiday business launched in November – has been "well received" by customers and is expected to "at least break even" by the end of the financial year. Cirium

https://www.varesenews.it/2020/01/a321-neo-easyjet-50-emissioni-acustiche-meno/892305/

I passeggeri U2 potranno cosi' sfruttare connessioni in vari scali dove vola EY, incluso Roma FCO e Milano MXP.

Etihad Airways and Easyjet enter into new partnership

  • Customers now have easy access to the Etihad and easyJet networks through joint gateways across Europe
  • This partnership becomes Etihad’s first use of the transformational New Distribution Capability platform
Abu Dhabi, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Etihad Airways (Etihad), the national airline of the UAE, has become the most recent airline to partner with easyJet, one of the world’s largest airlines. This new partnership means customers can purchase tickets through the easyJet worldwide website connecting the two airlines’ networks and opening new and exciting possibilities for travel between Europe, Africa, the Azores and the UAE. The collaboration comes into effect immediately.
The partnership follows easyJet’s accelerated and successful roll out programme with world-leading flight comparison search engine, Dohop, which powers the easyJet worldwide website connecting its European network with longhaul flights. For Etihad, this has been achieved using the NDC (New Distribution Capability) platform providing technical capability for new partnerships previously not possible. The partnership with easyJet and Dohop is the UAE national airline’s first use of this technology and Etihad plans to add more airlines and travel partners to their NDC portfolio in 2020.
Ali Saleh, Etihad Airways Vice President Alliances and Partnerships, said: “This new collaboration between two great brands is a logical leap forward for both our companies. easyJet is a perfect launch partner for us in Europe, allowing us to reliably increase the breadth of our continental reach to and from Abu Dhabi, as we enhance ways of connecting directly with more airlines and travel partners around the world.
“The ability to provide end-to-end booking capabilities through our NDC platform will provide customers with ‘one stop’ solutions for seamless travel with partners, whether legacy or low-cost, through Etihad’s global gateways.”
Rachel Smith, easyJet’s Head of Commercial Partnerships said: "We're excited to announce our partnership with Etihad Airways, which opens up Abu Dhabi as a destination to our passengers and more of Europe to Etihad. Through smart self-connections and strategic partnerships, we continue to extend the reach of the worldwide by easyJet network offering more value and more routes to more customers."
Customers will for the first time be able to purchase tickets on the easyJet website from 68 cities on the airline’s network in Europe to Abu Dhabi, connecting on to Etihad Airways flights from 10 European gateways in Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Rome, Geneva, Madrid, Manchester, Milan Malpensa, and Zurich. Both airlines plan to expand the partnership to include more destinations in the future.

Nessun passo indietro sull’Italia.

La risposta all'emergenza

. Easyjet founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou urges the airline to fire staff and stop buying planes amid coronavirus chaos
Easyjet's founder urged the airline to slash costs by cancelling orders for planes and sacking staff during the coronavirus outbreak.
Just days after the company paid him a £60million dividend, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou said its multi-billion pound order for new planes was the real 'elephant in the room'.

He said this posed the biggest threat to the budget airline's future and called for plans to expand its fleet to be scrapped.

Easyjet is seeking a government-backed loan to help it survive the coronavirus crisis.

The company, along with rivals such as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, has been forced to ground planes because of the pandemic, while travel restrictions mean it has little revenue coming in.

But despite its request for taxpayer help, Easyjet pressed ahead with a £174million payout to shareholders on Friday, with one third of the cash going to Stelios.

A spokesman for the Cypriot tycoon, who founded the firm in 1995 and still owns 33 per cent of it with his family, declined to comment on the dividend yesterday.
