ORY >> NEW SLOT POOL ALLOCATION FOR S06
2 924 slots had been made available by some carriers for re-allocation on an annual basis at Paris-Orly airport. This slot pool has been distributed for the Schedules Conference of the aeronautical Summer 2006 season (S06).
The French authorities did not wish to reserve extra slots for Public Service Obligation routes. Thus, COHOR, appointed as Paris-Orly airport co-ordinator by the modified French Minister of Transport order of August 27th, 1996 and in accordance with the amended Council Regulation 95/93 of January 18th, 1993 on common rules for the allocation of slots at Community airports, distributed the pool on an annual basis considering the waiting list made of requests filed for the aeronautical Summer 2006 season (26th March, 2006 - 28th October, 2006) and received before the industry deadline set on 13th October, 2005.
The Council Regulation 95/93 which was amended in July 2004 stipulates that carriers must now clearly request themselves the new entrant status and that half of the pool must be allocated between carriers' requests with new entrant status.
The carriers having claimed this new entrant status and entitled to do so are : Air Dolomiti (2 daily flights to Verona), Air Senegal International (1 weekly flight to Dakar), bmi (3 daily flights to London Heathrow), Central Wings (2 daily flights to Warsaw), Condor (2 daily flights to Munich), dba (nearly 2 daily flights to Munich), Denim Air (nearly 2 daily flights to Eindhoven), easyJet Switzerland (nearly 2 daily flights to Basel), Hapag Lloyd Express (nearly 2 daily flights to Hannover et nearly 2 daily flights to Stuttgart), Karthago Airlines (8 weekly flights to Tunisia), MyWay Airline (1 daily flight to Roma), Norwegian (1 daily flight to Oslo et 3 weekly flights to Bergen), Royal Jordanian (1 weekly flight to Amman), TUI Belgium (3 weekly flights to Palma).
The airlines that have benefited from the distribution of the slot pool are (please click on "Attached Document" for further details) :
As new entrant (1 456 slots) :
* dba (1248): nearly 2 daily flights to Munich,
* Royal Jordanian (104) : 1 supplemental weekly flight to Amman,
* Karthago Airlines (104) : equivalent to 1 weekly flight to Tunisia.
As incumbents (1 460 slots) :
* Thomsonfly.com (730) for an additional daily flight,
* Sky Europe Airlines (730) for an additional daily flight.
These slots were allocated on the basis of submissions for aeronautical Summer 2006 season. However, the carriers which have been allocated these new slots on an annual basis willing to start their year round operations already before the end of the current aeronautical Winter 2005 season will be allowed to do so.
The reserved number of slots for year-round services will be allocated for the aeronautical Winter 2006 season provided that the new services will really start at the beginning of the aeronautical Summer 2006 season and that the year round operation requests are duly confirmed by carriers by the industry deadline set on 11th May, 2006 at 23:59 UTC.
