(AGI) New York - Un jet della Delta Airlines con 193 persone a bordo diretto a Mosca avrebbe un motore in fiamme e sta scaricando il carburante a bordo per poter atterrare all'aeroporto Jfk di New York da cui e' decollato. Lo riferiscono i media locali. Il jet e' un bimotore Boeing 767-300. Il volo Delta 30 era partito dal Jfk alle 16,25 locali (le 22,25 in Italia)ed era diretto all'aeroporto Semeretvo della capitale russa.

A plane made an emergency landing at Kennedy International Airport Sunday after experiencing engine trouble shortly after takeoff, officials said.
A spokesman for the Port Authority said the pilot complained of an unspecified engine problem and determined that the plane needed to return immediately to the airport.
The Fire Department scrambled more than 100 firefighters and rescue personnel to the airport after receiving conflicting reports that indicated that there was a fire or engine trouble on the plane. The department set up a staging area at the airport to prepare to aid passengers.
When the plane landed, officials determined that there was no fire to put out, and the plane was taxied to from the runway and escorted to the gate without incident, a spokesman said.
Roughly 200 people were aboard the plane.
un altro 767 della Delta partito da Atlanta per L.A. è dovuto rientrare in emergenza, sempre ieri, per il medesimo problema...e sembra abbia toccato la pista con la coda al momento dell'atterraggio (almeno questo riportava il TG5 di stamani)...

A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N137DL performing flight DL-125 from Atlanta,GA to Los Angeles,CA (USA) with 262 passengers, was climbing through FL190 out of Atlanta about 10 minutes into the flight when the crew reported they needed to return to Atlanta due to an engine problem (CF6). The airplane levelled at FL190 and returned to Atlanta. While landing about 40 minutes later the tail of the aircraft contacted the runway surface, the airplane rolled out without further incident and taxied to the gate.
The FAA reported, that the aircraft suffered an air duct problem. Upon landing at Atlanta the aircraft's tail scraped the runway. A runway inspection revealed no debris. The airplane was able to taxi to the gate without assistance.
A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration N126DL reached Los Angeles with a delay of 5.5 hours.

secondo me sono casi amplificati dal problema A380 Qantas. Probabilmente accadono con la frequenza di sempre solo che ora ne abbiamo notizia.
Chissà, probabilmente se non c'èra lui a bordo non avremmo saputo nulla dell' accaduto
Veramente di Di Caprio si è saputo solo poco fa, la notizia del problema al volo DL è nota da ieri sui media.
