Chicago – Il vettore cinese Juneyao Airlines ha concluso con Boeing un contratto per l’acquisto di 5 Boeing 787-9. L’ordine, a prezzi di listino, ha un controvalore di oltre 1.3 miliardi di dollari.
L’ordine, che include altre cinque opzioni per lo stesso modello, è il primo da parte del vettore cinese per Boeing, nonché il primo per velivoli widebody. Al momento, Juneyao Airlines opera una flotta composta esclusivamente da Airbus A320 e A321 su rotte nazionali e regionali.
Il vettore, nato nel 2005, ha dichiarato, tramite il presidente del CdA, che intende espandere le proprie operazioni sul lungo raggio, con la prospettiva di aprire rotte per l’Europa, l’Australia e il nord America a partire dal 2020. Juneyao Airlines è basata a Shanghai e opera da entrambi gli aeroporti di Pudong e Hongqiao.
Per Boeing si tratta dell’ennesimo ordine per 787 sul mercato cinese, dopo la conclusione di contratti con China Southern Airlines, Ruili Airlines e Donghai Airlines.
